The Whole Shebang

Date finished: 2000-05-14

A 1997 book summarizing current cosmological theories. The danger of such books is they all start seeming the same after a while; they go over the same familiar territory (red shift, cosmic background radiation, Hubble constant, &c...). This book doesn't fall into that trap on the cosmological material, though the brief discussion of quantum reality near the end is pretty unremarkable (Copenhagen interpretation, many worlds, spooky action at a distance, &c). A skilful summary of the state of the field around 1996.
