A collection of columns about object-oriented programming, design patterns, programming languages, the author's biography, and the life and death of Lucid. Moderately interesting; the best section is probably the one on Lucid's course from a Lisp vendor to a C++ vendor to its demise. The first section is patterns is rather dull and doesn't seem to offer anything very concrete, only speculation; the biographical section is remarkable, but also rather depressing. Worth a single quick reading.
