A brief and superficial book about bots on the Internet, where the definition of "bot" is vague and extends to NPCs on MUDs, IRC bots, Usenet cancelbots, and Web spiders. While the final chapter makes some vague comments about bots bringing organic adaptiveness to the net, they're not very convincing since there's no sense that the author has a more rigorous understanding of the topic than he lets on, and the book winds up being mostly content-free, except for a few entertaining anecdotes.
